The Superhighway to Serfdomby Alan Scholl
April 16, 2008Our most powerful national leaders are deliberately taking away the America that we love. The North American Union (NAU) has become a personal imminent threat to individual Americans, and simultaneously illegal immigration is mushrooming into an economic and social nightmare. Meanwhile, elements of our government, rather than moving to solve these problems have actually helped to create them and are exacerbating them. Here’s why.
The Problems:
Most apparent are the hundreds of landowners who have become victims of “eminent domain” to create a network of NAFTA corridors, and the growing alarm of truckers, teamsters, and others over the impact of these corridors. Designed to flood America with cheap goods from controlled economies produced by virtual slave labor via Mexican ports and transport, they are collectively nicknamed the “Super Slab.” The purpose is to further “integrate” Mexico, the USA and Canada economically.
Even more alarming, every day, thousands of illegal immigrants, invaders, simply walk, swim or even tunnel across the southern border. U.S. Border Patrol agents watch helplessly because “politically correct” procedures from administration appointees are forced upon them.
The result is a flooded American job market, drained public health care services, overflowing public schools with bloated budgets, increased drug circulation, gang activity, and crime. In short, a lower standard of living and dangerous conditions for legal Americans. Both unreasonably high legal immigration and out-of-control illegal immigration flood our services, agricultural and construction job markets, impacting low-income Americans.
The official solution is the STRIVE Act, a blatant amnesty plan for as many as 30 million illegal aliens, and the exact opposite of a genuine solution. Remember, when the first major amnesty plan was pushed through in 1986? Proponents claimed it was the solution to the immigration problem. Take a look around. Instead it proved an incentive for even more illegals to migrate, and a total failure. So we’re going to do it again, only bigger. Besides the 20 to 30 million illegals already here, polls reported in the August 2005 Tucson Citizen, indicate that over 50 million additional Mexican citizens desire to flock to America. That spells one, huge future economic and social disaster for this nation.
Our government ignores the cries of its citizens to enforce Constitutional mandates to secure United States’ borders and repel foreign invasion. Invasion? Consider that the total of illegals here now equals the size of the entire world’s combined standing armies, and illegal immigration certainly qualifies as invasion.
This “integration” includes government aid and promotion of massive outsourcing of American jobs and industry to third world populations and oppressive regimes. This is a boon to tyrants who don’t even pretend to believe in the freedom that we enjoy. American businesses are simply failing against preferential treatment and forced labor in China. Technology export policies reward nations who didn’t pay the bill for research and development, while American industries who did are now suffering huge losses.
An example of legal immigration that also threatens high tech and management jobs is the H1-B visa program. Incredibly, the former head of the Federal Reserve, Mr. Alan Greenspan advocates opening the gates further to lower our wages even more. In a recent Boston Globe article Greenspan said that “Allowing more skilled workers into the country would bring down the salaries of top earners in the United States, easing tensions over the mounting wage gap…”
Well, how nice Mr. Greenspan -- for other nations. But brace yourselves Americans: This stampede over the cliff of “integration” is taking on all the attributes of the mass suicide of the lemmings.
Alan S. Blinder, former Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve, and longtime fan of free trade is estimating the loss of American jobs in this brave new outsourced world at 40 million! That’s right, 40 Million. Please note: the policy makers won’t lose their jobs! People like you and me will.
When NAFTA took effect on, its supporters boasted in the Washington Times that NAFTA “would create 200,000 new jobs and expand the manufacturing base throughout the country.” [January 1, 1994] Today, virtually everyone now knows that Clinton, Carter, Ford, and both Bushes — along with all the other NAFTA cheerleaders — were dead wrong. Only 17 months later, even the liberal New York Times acknowledged: “It is expected that the true job loss under NAFTA will reach one million by the end of this year.” [September 11, 1995]
The Department of Labor reported in 2006 that 1,800,000 Americans became eligible for NAFTA’s Transitional Adjustment Assistance Program, set up to assist those who had lost their jobs because of NAFTA. Unfortunately, that doesn’t tell the entire story — how many Americans simply found another job without applying for this assistance program?
It is now estimated that, because of NAFTA, between four and seven million Americans have lost their jobs. According to one report, “While the USTR reports on the positive statistic that ‘total trade among the three NAFTA countries has more than doubled, passing from US $306 billion in 1993 to almost US $621 billion in 2002,’ the Economic Policy Institute has found that ‘between 1994 and 2000, the U.S. lost more than 3 million jobs…”
One, two, three, seven, or as Mr. Blinder predicts, 40 million jobs lost? Today, most American workers have not entered the statistics when they were laid off or fired, they simply settled for less desirable employment and lower wages.
U.S. Manufacturing and industry sectors haven’t fared any better. Hundreds of textile mills and other small manufacturing concerns in the Southeast have closed their doors. Small towns, big cities, states, and whole regions are seeing various stages of economic disaster. Recent figures show that American men under 30 now fare worse economically than their fathers, a first in our history, outside of the brief span of the great depression.
From automobiles to washing machines, from tool and die factories to vacuum cleaners, from mining to technical industries, the industrial giant that was once America is beginning to look like a dying patient on life support.
In Detroit, massive unemployment leads to houses that were bargains at $70,000 two years ago, selling now for just $35,000. 200 homes were recently sold at auction, some for as little as $1,300. This “integration” is causing enormous human suffering right here, in the USA.
President George Bush, Vicente Fox of Mexico, and Prime Minister Paul Martin of Canada met in March of 2005 to initiate the first stages of a merger between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Americans, any agreement, which involves a merger on any level with two foreign nations, is patently unconstitutional. Any U.S. president should know that this act clearly violates the oath of office to that constitution.
Many of our leaders have knowingly given up power and independence for international dependence or “integration,” as it is called. The movement away from an independent USA has been happening by small incremental change for many decades. And NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, was the launching pad for much of the current situation.
Some politicians and power-brokers within the United States government and industry, along with their counterparts in Canada, and Mexico, are currently working to create a new political entity, the North American Union, through the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or (SPP) created by Bush, Fox, and Martin.
Our own tax-funded Commerce Department erected an entire website dedicated to this project. It is adorned with a globalist symbol, not an American one. The plans detailed on the site include a “free trade zone with a common security perimeter,” which is in effect, the process of erasing our national borders and expanding those borders to the perimeter of the whole continent of North America. Resting on NAFTA as its source of authority, much of the relationship described by this plan is an expansion of the Security and Prosperity Partnership.
Democrat Clinton built the foundation with NAFTA on a Council on Foreign Relations template. He was aided by Republicans in Congress. Now Bush Jr. signs the SPP, and continues the building process. What’s the link? Decades of planning is revealed in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) quarterly journal Foreign Affairs. [Independent Task Force Report 53, CFR, Building a North American Community] Studying these writings, it becomes clear. This powerful internationalist group considers regional government agencies, such as the NAU, and the SPP, or ‘trade agreements’ like NAFTA, simply incremental steps on the way to their ultimate destination, world government.
Factor in the power of upwards of 500 government officials including a majority of cabinet members, former Presidents, nearly all Secretaries of State and Defense, and the current Vice President, and a like number of major media personalities and executives among the 4,500 odd members of the CFR, and it becomes crystal clear. The bulk of the remainder of the members represent the multi-national corporate entities who care not about American jobs or profits or citizens, and are leading the charge to globalize, offshore, and outsource.
At the beginning of his essay on integration at a American University Washington College of Law conference on “North American Law”, CFR member and Internationalist Robert Pastor states that NAFTA “can be considered a kind of a draft constitution for an emerging region…” Pastor goes on to say: “Are the three governments prepared to give up their sovereignty for a wider community?”
Pastor calls the charges against him of conspiring to dissolve the USA “absurd.” World government advocates often hide their real objectives while their plans take shape right beneath our noses. Read the book, “Shadows of Power,” by James Perloff.*
The North American Union is quickly becoming a reality. But does this actually spell the end of our independence? Let’s answer that by looking at similar situation that has unfolded elsewhere in the world.
In Europe, under the Marshall Plan, internationalists first built the European Common Market. The Common Market was sold to the European people as merely a “free trade” pact for an initially weak political entity, the European Economic Community.
Over time, this entity grew powerful and was renamed the European Community, after which it dropped its old pretense of “economic purpose,” and grew into the monolith now known as the European Union, or EU.
Today the EU dictates policy, trade, human rights, issuance of visas, travel permissions, border security, and social rules and regulations. The EU controls economies and currency, and even dictates internal law to nearly all the nations of Europe.
Some of you may recall the British grocer who was arrested for selling bananas by the pound after the EU had said, “Use metric.” Or the banning of corporal punishment of children in Ireland.
So what’s all this got to do with America’s independence?
Steve Previs, of Jefferies International, a London-based investment firm in a Google interview recently told us: “One thing the people who are dollar-based need to focus on is the Amero. That's the one thing nobody's talking about that's going to have a big impact on everybody's life in Canada, the US and Mexico…”
Vicente Fox gave a hint: “Eventually, our long-range objective is to establish with the United States, but also with Canada, our other regional partner, an ensemble of connections and institutions similar to those created by the European Union.” [Mexican President Vicente Fox’s speech on “Mexican Foreign Policy in the 21st Century,” delivered in Madrid, Spain, on May 16th 2002]
Hello, America! It’s time to awaken. The pattern of the EU is being repeated on North America and the United States! If you like the nation destroying EU, you’ll love the new conglomeration of corrupt, socialist Mexico, socialist Canada, and the remains of the good old USA. A new feudal system is emerging, and if Americans do not stand up to act in large numbers, and soon, there will soon be no more USA, only a tiny royalty and a large number of serfs.
