LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
2008

To the Editor,

We’ll talk a little treason. I found out that in Irish tradition if people wished to talk toe to toe on a serious topic of politics, they used the phrase, “let’s talk a little treason.” This is their way of saying let’s get down and dirty. This originated because if the Irish said anything against the Crown it was considered treasonous. Maybe it’s time for the CPoW to talk a little treason. The “T” word in American politics is like the “C” word in health, nearly forbidden.

The CPoW has a wonderful platform, second only to our nation’s founding documents. We are purposely ignored for all the known reasons by both the church and the complete political spectrum. Maybe it’s time we start playing hardball with our party advertisements and news releases. We have been lawful, accurate, patient and kind up to now. We should use our US Constitutional platform and the founding documents to “talk a little treason.”

Our political enemies of every stripe are unlawfully living by treasonous means. That is, treasonous to both God and Rule of Law. If they weren’t treasonous we would have had no reason to form the Constitution Party, now would we?

To be effective, we must turn up the heat on the real public debate. The first important premise in any sales talk our public debate is you must do something to get their attention. That’s paramount. One simple example is if we allow our political opponents to frame the debate. Abortion is not a visual word, but baby-killers is a visual phrase. See the difference? If you do not frame the debate you have lost the debate. The academic dialogue means nothing without the power of attention.

So are you ready, as they say in Ireland, to “talk a little treason”? Remember if you hit a big rock with a hammer, enough of it will break! Pound it home, pound it home, pound it home. We must do this as a state party and also when our candidates run. John F. Kennedy said, “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
